Car Major Service at an Al Quoz Workshop Open 24 Hours
A car major service is the larger scheduled service listed in your owner’s manual. It replaces the filters, fluids and parts that are due at your car’s mileage, then checks the brakes, suspension, steering and electrics with the car raised on a lift. Rapid Rev Garage carries out this work at its full workshop in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2. The workshop is open 24 hours a day and rated 5.0 on Google across 209 reviews.
- Due Parts Replaced
- Underbody Lift Check
- Full Diagnostic Scan

Send your car’s make, model, year and current mileage on WhatsApp. The workshop can have the right oil and filters for your car ready before you arrive, and you can come in after work or late in the evening.
What Is a Car Major Service, and Why Does Your Car Need One?
A car major service is the scheduled visit where most of the replacement work in your service book happens. There is no single standard for it. Each carmaker sets its own schedule, and the interval changes with the engine, the market the car was built for, its age and how it is driven. Your owner’s manual or service book tells you which visit counts as the major one for your car.
The purpose stays the same across brands: catch wear before it causes a breakdown. Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time, which lowers its boiling point. A clogged air filter makes the engine work harder. Worn suspension joints wear out tyres early. Fixing these on schedule costs less than a tow from Sheikh Zayed Road and an emergency repair, and a full service record helps when you sell the car.
For a step by step look at every check, read our guide to what happens during a major car service.
What Does a Major Service Checklist Include?
The work falls into three groups. Some checks happen at every visit, some parts are replaced only when your manual says they are due, and any repair found along the way is quoted on its own.
Group | What it covers |
Done at every major visit | Engine oil and oil filter change, fluid level and condition checks, brake, suspension and steering inspection on a lift, battery and charging test, diagnostic scan for fault codes, tyre condition and pressure check, written service report |
Replaced only when due | Air filter, cabin (AC) filter, fuel filter where serviceable, spark plugs, brake fluid, engine coolant, transmission fluid, differential and transfer case oil |
Quoted separately | Repairs found during the inspection, such as brake pads and discs, shock absorbers, batteries, tyres or leaking seals |
“Replaced when due” means the part is changed when the manufacturer specifications for your car call for it, based on mileage or time. If a part is not due, it is inspected and left in place. Ask for this split on your quote, so you know what the price covers and what could be added.
What Your Service Report Should List
Ask for a written report before you collect the car. It should show the date, mileage, oil grade, each part replaced with its brand, and anything the mechanic wants to check at the next visit. Keep it with the car’s papers for warranty questions, resale and the next workshop that works on the car.
Is Your Car Due for a Minor or a Major Car Service?
Check the last service sticker or invoice, then compare the mileage with the schedule in your owner’s manual. The visit that adds filter, plug and fluid replacement is the major one. The smaller visits in between are minor services, which usually cover the oil, the oil filter and basic checks.
Job | Minor service | Major car service |
Engine oil and oil filter | Replaced | Replaced |
Air and cabin filters | Checked | Replaced when due |
Spark plugs | Not usually touched | Replaced when due |
Brake fluid and coolant | Levels checked | Replaced when due |
Gearbox and differential oils | Not usually checked | Checked, replaced when due |
Brakes, suspension and steering | Visual check | Full check on a lift |
Diagnostic scan | Sometimes | Yes |
How Often Does a Car Need a Major Service in Dubai?
The answer depends on your car, so start with the owner’s manual. Most manuals give two schedules: a normal one and a severe one with shorter intervals.
What a Real Manufacturer Schedule Looks Like
Toyota’s published service schedule for New Zealand shows how far apart different jobs can sit on one car. Under normal use, it lists engine oil every 15,000 km and brake fluid every 30,000 km or two years. Differential and transfer oil come every 45,000 km or three years, and long life coolant is first replaced at 150,000 km. Other brands, and Toyota models built for other markets, use different numbers. Treat this as an example of how a schedule works, not as the interval for your car.
When Dubai Driving Counts as Severe Use
Manufacturers define severe use by specific conditions. Toyota’s schedule lists heavy use at high speed, long idling and slow driving, and frequent driving on dusty or unsealed roads. For each condition, it halves the interval for the parts that condition wears, such as engine oil dropping from 15,000 km to 7,500 km.
Many Dubai drivers meet one or more of these conditions. Long idling in traffic on Al Khail Road with the AC running matches the wording in severe use schedules. So do regular desert driving and daily trips through dusty industrial areas. If your driving matches your manual’s list, use the shorter intervals. If it does not, the normal schedule applies.
Warning Signs to Book Early
Book a check before the due date if you notice any of these:
- The service light or check engine light stays on
- The engine idles rough or hesitates when you pull away
- The AC blows weaker air than it used to
- The brakes squeal or grind, or the pedal feels soft
- Fuel use rises with no change in how you drive
- Oil spots appear under the car in your parking bay
How Much Does a Major Car Service Cost in Dubai?
Prices vary widely because packages with the same name cover different work. Prices published by Dubai service centres in October 2026 included:
- AED 349 plus VAT for a basic package on a regular car, covering an oil and oil filter change, fluid top ups, an inspection and a filter clean
- AED 530 for a mobile major service carried out at the customer’s home or office
- AED 1,500 to AED 3,000 as the average price one large multibrand chain quotes for a major service
As a rough guide, a full major service at a workshop, with filters, fluids and plugs replaced as they fall due, usually sits between AED 700 and AED 1,500 for a family sedan. Premium European and performance cars often run from AED 1,500 to AED 4,000. The final figure depends on your car’s oil specification and which parts are due at its mileage.
Why Two Quotes Can Differ by Thousands
Compare quotes line by line. A low price often means filters are cleaned instead of replaced, fluids are topped up instead of changed, and spark plugs and gearbox oils are left out. A V8 SUV also needs more oil, larger filters and more labour than a small sedan. Parts choice matters too. Genuine parts come from the agency, and OEM parts come from the same factories under their own brand. Aftermarket parts come from other makers, and their quality is mixed.
Why a Major Service Needs a Workshop Lift, Not a Parking Bay
Much of the inspection happens under the car. Checking ball joints and bushes, draining differential and transfer case oil, inspecting the exhaust and tracing leaks all need the car raised. A mobile mechanic in a building car park can change oil or swap a battery, but cannot see enough of the underbody for a full inspection.
Mobile service still suits small jobs at home. For those, the garage also runs a mobile car mechanic service. For the major visit itself, bring the car to the workshop.
Can You Get a Major Car Service in Dubai at Night?
Yes, at a workshop that stays open. Many service centres in Dubai close between 6 PM and 9 PM. That means the visit has to fit into the working day, and you lose the car for that day. Rapid Rev Garage is a full workshop that never closes, so you can bring the car in after work, in the evening or overnight.
Let's work together.
At Rapid Rev Garage, your car’s performance is our passion. Agency or Independent Garage While Your Car Is Under Warranty?
The agency is the right place for recall work and for repairs covered by the warranty. For routine servicing, the rules have changed over the years. In 2016 the Ministry of Economy announced that servicing at the agency would no longer be a condition of the warranty. Gulf News reported in 2018 that the change was still waiting for final approval. In 2022, Khaleej Times reported that dealers should not cancel a valid warranty only because the car was serviced at an approved centre elsewhere.
Before you service a car under warranty outside the agency, read the warranty booklet and ask the dealer to confirm its conditions in writing. Use parts and oils that meet the specifications in your manual, follow the schedule, and keep every invoice. If a dealer refuses a valid claim, the Ministry of Economy takes consumer complaints. Once the warranty ends, many owners move to an independent garage for routine servicing.
How Do You Find a Trusted Car Major Service Near Me?
Look for recent Google reviews and an itemised quote that separates fixed work from parts replaced when due. The garage should also give a written service report and have a full workshop with a lift and a diagnostic scanner. Check that the hours fit your day, because a major visit usually takes three to five hours of workshop time.
For drivers in and around Al Quoz, Rapid Rev Garage is a strong choice for this service, for the reasons below.
Open Around the Clock as a Full Workshop
The workshop never closes, so the visit can fit around work and family plans. If a fault appears late at night, the same workshop can take the car without a second booking somewhere else.
Rated 5.0 From 209 Google Reviews
The reviews are public on the garage’s Google Business Profile and on its reviews page, so you can read what other drivers say before you book.
Easy to Reach in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2
The workshop sits at Al Khail Gate, 12th Street, in Al Quoz Industrial Area 2, near Al Khail Road and Latifa Bint Hamdan Street. It is a short drive from Al Barsha, Meydan, Business Bay and Jumeirah. Open the workshop location in Google Maps.
Passenger Cars Only
The garage works on passenger cars, from small sedans to large SUVs. Trucks and heavy vehicles are not serviced here.
Car Service and Repair Beyond the Major Service
A major visit often turns up other jobs, and the same workshop handles car service and repair for passenger cars. For regular servicing between major visits, see car service in Dubai. For worn pads or discs found during the inspection, see car brakes repair. For gearbox fluid on its own, see transmission oil change. Before an RTA test, book a vehicle inspection. If your car breaks down on the road, call for roadside assistance.
Car Major Service FAQs
Is a Major Service the Same as a Full Car Service?
Often, yes. Many Dubai garages use “full service” and “major service” for the same visit, but the scope differs from one garage to the next. Read the line items on the quote rather than trusting the name.
How Long Does a Major Car Service Take?
Most take three to five hours of workshop time. Large engines, 4×4 models and cars that need extra parts take longer. Ask for a time estimate when you book.
Will Servicing Outside the Agency Affect My Warranty?
It can depend on your warranty terms. Read the warranty booklet, ask the dealer to confirm its conditions in writing, use parts and oils that meet your manual’s specifications, and keep every invoice.
Does a Major Service Help a Car Pass the RTA Test?
It helps you prepare. Used cars due for mulkiya (registration) renewal in Dubai must pass a technical inspection at an RTA approved testing centre. The test checks brakes, emissions, suspension and steering, lights, tyres, the chassis and body, the windscreen and window tint. Tyres need at least 1.6 mm of tread. A major visit covers many of these areas, so faults show up before the test day.
What Should I Send to Book?
Send the make, model, year and current mileage, the date of the last service, and any warning lights or noises. Ask for the quote to list fixed work and parts replaced when due, and ask to approve any extra work before it starts.
